Year 2
Water Watchers Incursion
As part of the this term's integrated unit on Water, students participated in a Water Watchers program presented by Yarra Valley Water on Friday 1 March. They learnt more about where water comes from, how people consume it, and why we all have a role to play in saving it. This might look like taking 4-minute showers or loading more washing in one go to save water.
The Year 2's were eager to join in on the activities and games, such as seeing how much water we saved if we brushed our teeth and left the tap off instead of on. We even got to see a giant toothbrush!
Students were further introduced to the four washers - Washy, Welly, Wavy and Wade. A small pack has gone home to put on a tap that you may have. Overall, we had a blast and can't wait to put our water watching knowledge to good use.
Look out for the Water Watcher who will keep a little eye on water usage in your home!
