Visual Art

Welcome to Visual Art 2024

Welcome back to everyone, hope you had a restful and rejuvenating break! I thought I'd start by introducing myself as I am back in the art room in 2024 after a 3 year hiatus.   My name is Lisa Trevorrow and I have been a teacher at BPPS for around 15 years.  I have worked across the school as a classroom teacher and previously spent 4 years teaching visual art part time at BPPS. I am extremely passionate about visual art and am so excited about the projects I have planned for 2024.

Bunjil the Creator Spirit

The first week back saw the whole-school learn the story of Bunjil and work together on a collaborative artwork called 'Bunjil - The Creator Spirit'.  The Wurundjeri people believe that Bunjil, a wedge tailed eagle, created the land, the animals, people and all natural things.   Each student designed a feather and when collaged together they make the shape of an eagle with wide open wings.  Please take the time to view Bunjil who is now proudly hanging in the main office foyer area.

Happy Lunar New Year - The Blessing Tree

Please drop by and make a wish to place on the blessing tree.  The is a traditional activity to do during the Lunar New Year festival.  You will find the tree between the main office foyer and the art room.  The you to the community engagement group that supported with putting this together.

Art Smocks, Art Smocks, Art Smocks..............

Please make sure that your child has a labelled art smock at school as soon as possible.  We have already started using paint and clay so it is very important that an art smock is brought to school.  They can be placed in your child's art smock tub located in their classroom.
