Sport and P.E.

In the Classroom -

Another busy couple of weeks in the PE Classroom! In Week 3 of Term 1, all grades continued to set up their classroom expectations and culture for the school year - with particular emphasis afforded to our PE Values of Safety, Fairness, Teamwork, Positivity and Effort. Following this, in Week 4 of term, we were fortunate enough to have a representative from AFL Schools visit Boroondara Park to run free football clinics during PE classes. Although the weather was warm, all students engaged really positively with these clinics and took some great learning from the sessions. Remember that we will have AFL Auskick and AFL Superkick programs starting up at BPPS, each Wednesday after school, from next week. See below for more information!

Sporting Events -

Last week over 30 students participated in a really successful school Swimming Trials at the Boroondara Sports Complex. Well done to all of the boys and girls who jumped in the pool on the day - there were some fantastic efforts in the water and some really well-spirited competition between our students. Thanks as well to the many parents who came along to this event to assist and support the BPPS swimmers on what turned out to be a very hot day. Special congratulations and good luck to the 22 students who have qualified for District Swimming, which will be taking place next Thursday.

This Friday marks the start of our Interschool Sport season for Year 5 and 6 students. Good luck to our tee-ball, basketball, tennis and volleyball teams in their upcoming match-ups against Mont Albert Primary School and Greythorn Primary School over the next fortnight.
