Principals Report

We have certainly hit the ground running with parent/teacher meetings taking place, interschool swimming and team sports as well as the Grade Six students heading to the City for their 3 day camp.

Now is a great time to thank the teachers responsible for the planning of all these extra-curricular activities.  It takes mountains of work behind the scenes to ensure that each event runs smoothly and safely.  I would also love to thank all our wonderful parent volunteers who help to ensure these activities can go ahead.  If ever you wonder what real tiredness is, ask one of the parent volunteers how they feel as they get off the camp bus!

This coming Monday will be the Family BBQ and Band.  Please bring along your camping chairs or picnic blanket.  There will be food and drinks on sale.  Please bring smaller denominations of cash if possible.  There will be eftpos facilities available too on the afternoon.  The event kicks off about 4pm and concludes at 6pm.  There will also be a range of games hosted on the school’s oval.  I hope to see you all there.

New Timetable

We have adjusted the timetable this year to accommodate the new specialist classes starting this year.  On surveying the students, they requested more dedicated eating time in the classroom. The very clever Ms. Wilson and Mrs. Day were able to accomplish this task successfully.  The early report from students has been very positive and the amount of litter in the yard has dropped dramatically.

Yard Update

We were able to eventually get the ride on mower in for repair and it is due back shortly.  It may take a few mows to get the grounds back to looking great, but we will get there.

Thanks to our maintenance man Adam for jumping in with his mower to keep us going in the meantime.

All the best,

Chris Short
