Message from the Principal

Dear Families and Friends,

The standard we walk past is the standard we accept.

I am sure many of you have heard this quote. It has resonated with me as we begin the school year, observing with how we interact with others and how our students address adults and their peers.   I expect students to use my name when they say good morning (and they do), I expect them to ask how my day has been or to wish me a nice evening/day/weekend (and they do). Our students are capable of great things and will rise to the challenge when we set the bar high.

I encourage you to let your children carry their own bags, and unpack their own belongings as they prepare for the day.   Have high expectations of how they speak to others and how they wear their uniform.  By encouraging independence, pride, and resilience they will grow as people and maybe even thank you one day.  :)

Thank you

Thank you to Michelle, Kate, Trent, Alice, Jacinta, Josh, Ali, Mel T, and Maggie for giving up their sleep, time with family, and energy for our Year 6 students on camp.  It is a huge responsibility to take other people's children away on camp, ensuring they are safe, fed, and SunSmart, to name just a few things.  I am incredibly grateful to St. Therese's staff and their commitment to our students.

Grow in the Likeness of God Award.

Each fortnight, I will be awarding a member (or 3)  from our community with this award based on our theme for 2024 - Grow in the Likeness of God.

This week's recipients are:

Charlotte, Bonnie, and Tom.

These three students will say good morning every day.  They inquire about my day and listen to my response.

These students show RESPECT for others and HOPE  displaying confidence and belief in themselves.   Thank you for being such valuable members of our school community.

On Friday, 8 March, we'll be welcoming Shon Productions to St Therese's. While on-site, Shon will be filming part of an upcoming Catholic education commercial and a promotional video for St Therese's. Students are reminded to wear the correct uniform on Friday, including following school expectations regarding socks, jewellery, hair accessories, and hair tied up if beyond shoulder length.

Donations Required: Easter Eggs!

It's nearly time for our annual Easter Raffle. We're hoping that families could please donate an Easter Egg or Easter-related product that will be used to create our prizes. Our Parents and Friends committee will be arranging the raffle and more information will come out soon.

Donations can be given to the Office.
