Maths Afternoon
It was wonderful to see some of our families join us on our Leap Day Maths Afternoon - thank you to all of you who were able to attend. In the Foundation and Junior room, we saw games that focus on subitising (recognising small collections without needing to count), counting and place value. The Middles played a number of different games that help to develop students’ understanding of place value, develop their fluency and stretch their strategic thinking. Most of our Seniors opted to take advantage of the sunshine, attempting to beat personal bests in sporting activities and tracking their success rate as fractions, decimals and percentages without the use of an algorithm.
We hope you enjoyed playing maths games with us - we sure enjoyed seeing the happy faces of your children (even if they were yelling “Get out of my house!”)
NAPLAN Sessions
NAPLAN will start next week for our students in grades 3 and 5. The tests are on different days so the kids don’t tire out, dates are listed below. If you have any questions about your child sitting NAPLAN, please talk with your child’s classroom teacher.

Somers Camp
