Grade 5 Report

A snapshot into Grade 5

With the new school year well under way, we're excited to share some updates on how the Grade 5 students are settling in and thriving so far!

Our Grade 5 students have been super excited to participate in the Inter-School Sports and Healthy Living programs for the first time! The programs provide a fantastic opportunity for them to showcase their teamwork, sportspersonship, and determination. All students should be incredibly proud of their passion and dedication on and off the field!

In maths, students have been delving into the world of fractions. The students have been mastering concepts with curiosity and enthusiasm, constructing vibrant fraction walls through hands-on paper folding.

With bubbling excitement, the Grade 5 classes have begun their exploration of chemical sciences. They're eagerly absorbing knowledge about elements, compounds, and reactions. Stay tuned as they gear up to conduct captivating experiments in the coming weeks!

Students have also commenced this term’s Literature unit, focusing on the book 'Young Dark Emu.' Through this thought-provoking read, they are gaining deep insights into Indigenous culture, history, and perspectives. Engaging discussions and creative activities have been a real highlight so far.

Cultivating a growth mindset is essential for our students' personal and academic growth. To foster this mindset, we recently engaged in an amazing affirmation activity. It's been incredible to see our students using their affirmations to embrace challenges with positivity and perseverance!

We're really proud of the Grade 5 students’ progress over the last few weeks and can’t wait to share more of their wonderful success as the year goes on!
