Dear Parents and Carers
Parents and Friends Association
Thank you to those parents who were able to attend last night’s Parents & Friends Annual General Meeting. I am pleased to announce the following executive P&F positions were 2024:
President: Chantelle Elliott
Vice President: Jenny Mitrevski
Secretary: Perrie Simovic
I am very grateful to these parents for agreeing to their nomination for these roles.
We were unable to appoint a Treasurer for the 2024 year. If any parent is interested in taking on this role, or of you know of anyone who would be suitable, we would greatly appreciate reaching out to the above Executive Members or through our School Office, for further information. Support and training will be provided for the incoming Treasurer if required. Hopefully we will be able to nominate and appoint a Treasurer at our first P&F General Meeting to be held next Wednesday 28 February 7pm-8pm in the school Hall. Everyone is welcome.

Annual Improvement Plan
The Catholic Education, Diocese of Wollongong’s approach to Continuous Catholic School Improvement (CCSI) is described in our CCSI Framework. CCSI is focused on growth and improvement in faith, learning and wellbeing outcomes for all students. It involves systemic collaboration, inquiry, reflection, and learning to identify and evaluate long- and short-term priority areas for ongoing school improvement.
This year’s Annual Improvement Plan has been informed by analysis of student achievement data and current curriculum reform.
Goal: Students will achieve continual growth in Mathematics as a result of shared curriculum expectations and collaborative processes ensuring alignment of curriculum, teaching, learning and assessment.
Our Professional Learning Plan is designed to provide rigorous professional learning to support our staff achieve this goal. Our progress will be closely monitored and evaluated to measure the impact of our work and student achievement growth. Updates on our progress will be communicated fortnightly within this section of the school newsletter.
Year 6 Leadership Teams
Each fortnight, our Year 6 Leadership Groups meet to plan initiatives and discuss their leadership contributions. Our Leadership Groups include Green Thumbs, Mini Vinnies & Wellbeing Team. These groups are mentored by Mr Mathews and Mrs Allan.
Our School Captains, Nash, Celie, Sophia and Ned also meet each fortnight with Mr Aguilera and myself. They have been proactive in suggesting initiatives including their willingness to contribute fortnightly to our school newsletter. It is my privilege to include this section within the Principal’s Page.
PB4L - Positive Behaviours for Learning
A classroom where students actively participate in lessons, contribute to discussions, ask questions and listen to others will promote student engagement and increase student achievement. Supporting our students to be active and respectful learners is always a priority and as such, we use the Positive Behaviours For Learning (PB4L) Framework to guide both teachers and students.
When students require a reminder, or redirection back to the learning at hand, all staff follow the same procedure outline below

When students attain their 4th Principal Award, they are awarded a Principal’s Medallion at an assembly. End of Term awards can be included as part of the 5 awards.
