News and Information from Primary
Primary school at DCS is a very special place. Throughout the week there are many opportunities to see what students are achieving in and out of the classroom. Each classroom has developed its own mini-community, and it is wonderful to walk past and hear the numerous learning conversations that take place between students and DCS staff.
As you walk through the Prep, Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 areas, it is clear and evident the value that DCS places on who God has made us to be and the importance of families. The displays in these areas capture a range of thoughts which represent who students see themselves as and who they believe God has made them to be.
Please come in and see what students have produced. It is also a wonderful opportunity to speak with your child's classroom teacher and have an informal conversation that can shed light on how your child is travelling at school.
It was an incredible day to expand onto the Don Oval as the Primary Community and enjoy track and field events. Reflections from our Sports Captains captured the day so well and show the true heart of DCS:
It was the first DCS Sports Carnival experience for our Kinder students and it was wonderful to see them shine in their events. Some of their highlights of the day included:

Next year, 2025, will see the third year of Year 7 at Devonport Christian School. Since commencing in 2023 we have seen our Secondary school flourish, with exciting and innovative programs providing exceptional learning opportunities for our Secondary students. Our Secondary school is growing in numbers and planning is well underway for our new Year 9 and 10 Centre which will provide an additional learning space for our secondary students, and in doing so open up more areas for our Year 7 and 8 students.
We would like to extend a special invitation for parents and students of our current Year 5 and 6 classes to join us for our 2025 Year 7 Information Evening.
Come along to hear about our commitment to continuing our DCS learning culture and community into the secondary years. The DCS 2025 Year 7 Information Evening will be held on Tuesday 19th March, 6:45pm for a 7:00pm start, in the Jiloa Centre. Come along at 6:45pm if you would like a delicious hot drink to start the evening.
Every Year 6 student is automatically held a place for Year 7 at DCS. To assist us in our planning for 2025, we are asking parents to please provide an indication if you intend to continue your enrolment at DCS to Year 7 for 2025 by clicking here.
In 2023 DCS won the schools team competition with the most school participants - we had over 100 students registered! It’s time to defend our title - can we do it again in 2024?!
If your family would like to participate, simply click here to register.
We are looking forward to a great day!
