School Council

Wow, that was quick, term one is almost done.

Thanks to everyone who helped out at the community barbeque last Friday, it always takes a team effort to make these events happen and we were rewarded with perfect weather and a great time. We had a school council table, and it was great to talk to people about ways they can get involved in the school and see people signing up to the different subcommittees. If you missed the chance and are still keen to get involved, please get in touch with the office and they will send you in the right direction.

Another successful working bee was held last Saturday with a huge effort by a small group of committed people. Lots of weeding, pruning and mulching but I think the standout is the clean-up of the bike shed which we are making use of this week for Ride to School Day. I think those that helped can feel proud that they have made a difference.

With Antoinette taking a step back as the driving force behind the Arts Festival we are starting discussions on what our "next big thing" at TPS could be. There is a document to share ideas (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1DK6tD6xc29BTtM-x2dEqaJphQf_zwaQ9V1Rg_Z0DJyY/edit?usp=sharing), we had a zoom session this week and we will have further opportunities to gather input early in Term 2. If you have ideas and the energy to make them happen, please get involved.

In terms of school council business on Tuesday 26th at 6:30pm we will have a first meeting of the 2024 council next with our new members Melanie Henry, Heather Brady and Kate Cooney. This meeting will appoint roles of President, Vice President and Treasurer for this year, and we will look to coopt the two community members.
