Mobile phone reminder

The College stands by its values, which are supported by our ICT Policy, of Phone Away All Day, to enhance learning, and includes not photographing, filming, or posting material without permission in order to protect all members of our community. We want our young men to be capable of standing up and helping others in a crisis, rather than choosing to get out phones to film / bring about a situation which could otherwise be averted. If a student is caught with a mobile phone, he will receive a Friday detention. Please ensure all phones are in lockers from arriving to school until leaving in the afternoon.

Lateness

On the back of Mr Ronchetti’s comments in last week’s Woodchatta, being at school and on time is paramount in the achievement of higher learning gains.

Attendance is a key indicator of student engagement. Research has shown that consistent student attendance at school is correlated with positive schooling outcomes. ACRA- Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority.

If a student is late without a note more than three times in a term an email will be sent to his Pastoral Care leader and consequences will arise.

Please be at school on time, with the correct uniform and equipment, ready to learn for the day.

Any student who is late to school should have a note from their parent in their diary to explain the reason for their lateness.

Year 7 Camp

Mr Ryan and our Year 7 Pastoral Care team are completing preparations for the Year 7 Camp at Tea Gardens departing on Wednesday 20 March at normal school time. A letter was sent home last week in regard to permission and dietary requirements. Please action this ASAP.

Our Year 7 campers are looking forward to an inclusive Pastoral Care Camp with some great activities and shared experiences to develop a growth mindset.

St Pius X Community on show

On Saturday the 2nd XI Cricket team had a road trip to Bowral. Due to the recent rain the game was delayed, and this information was relayed the morning of the game. The entire team decided to meet at a local coffee shop to enjoy each other’s company and the boys hypothesised on what the pitch may look like.

It was a fantastic community feel and we are blessed to have quality students and parents that support our college.

A big congratulations to the 2nd XI who also came away from the game with an impressive win.

Go Pius!!!!
