Kindergarten students are developing important early literacy skills by learning to understand the concept of a word. Through engaging activities, they practice matching spoken and written words (match to sample) and use their fingers to frame words in text, helping them recognise words. These foundational skills support reading fluency and confidence as they begin their literacy journey!
A Friendship Web! This activity helped the children understand and celebrate their friendships. It involved using string to connect children to their friends, showing how everyone is linked. We all shared something positive about each other.
In maths, we are learning to subitise by recognising the number of objects in a group without having to count them individually. We are also learning to represent numbers in different ways.
We are learning to read and write simple sight words such as 'I', 'am', and 'can'. We can also use these words to express a thought and draw a picture to match with our idea.
