Open Boys Rugby League – Big Win

Our Open Boys Rugby League team kicked off the term in style with a dominant 44–8 win today over cross-town rivals Macintyre High School!

Best on ground was Lawson Walsh (Year 12) who put in a standout performance, with solid contributions also from Richard Sines and Kade Schneider (Year 11) — great work, boys!

A big shout out to the Kahler sisters, Dempsey (Year 9) and Rowie (Year 8) , for stepping up as assistant referees on the sidelines. You did an outstanding job helping the game run smoothly.

Well done to all involved — an excellent start to the season!

Another dominant performance yesterday saw Inverell High Opens secure a 46–8 win over Warialda! 

All players were outstanding on the field, with a special shout out to Michael Breen and the Year 10 students who played exceptionally well. Great teamwork and effort across the board!

Big Soccer Wins for Inverell High

On Friday 2nd May on our school oval, Inverell High’s soccer teams delivered two dominant performances against Glen Innes High.

Boys Under 15s – Bill Turner Cup. Inverell High 5 def. Glen Innes High 1

Goal Scorers: Andy Putter (2), Edmund Barton, Tyeson Steele and Aidan Woodward

The team now progresses to the next round to face Holy Trinity.

Open Boys – Puma Cup Inverell High 13 def. Glen Innes High 0

Goal Scorers: Johnny Arandale (6), Lawson Walsh (2), Temi Deji-Ojo, Clinton Chukwukelu, Kai Douglas and Nick Thanakornjiropast. One own goal by Glen Innes.

The team will take on Armidale Secondary College in the next round.

Well done to all players and Mr Rose their Coach on a fantastic display of skill and teamwork!

14s Buckley Shield Team Charge Ahead

Our Under 14s Buckley Shield team travelled to Warialda today and came away with a convincing 40–10 win! 

Toby Morgan Yr 8 starred with 3 tries and nailed 5/6 conversions Cooper Blair Yr 7 celebrated his birthday with a try. Tries also to David Ross Yr 7, Corban Walls Yr 8, and Isaac Sharp Yr 7

A huge team effort with strong defence laying the foundation for a dominant performance.

Representative Honour for Jack and Kaydon

On Friday 2nd May, Jack Partridge Year 10 and Kaydon Roberts Year 9 represented North West in a thrilling clash against Western Region in Gilgandra, with the game ending in a 16-all draw.

Both boys played exceptionally well, showcasing their skills on the big stage. 

A huge congratulations to Jack, who was selected for the Greater Western team! He will now travel to Wollongong later this term to compete in the NSWCHS State Trials.

Congratulations to Sophie Greentree

Last week, Sophie (Year 12) trialled in Gilgandra for the Under 18s Girls North West Rugby League team and was successfully selected for the Greater Western CHS team!

She’ll compete later this month in Wollongong—best of luck, Soph! We’re proud of you!
