Principal's Message

Mr Forrest

End of Term 1

It is hard to believe we are fast approaching the end of Term one.   A reminder to parents, we finish school 2:30 this Friday 4 April, resuming for Term 2 Tuesday 22 April.  Week one of Term two will be a short week, due to Public Holidays, which are Easter Monday 21 April and ANZAC Day Friday 25 April. I encourage all students and families to attend one of the services throughout our area. Please remember our first Learning Conversations will be on Wednesday 23 April, interviews for these Learning Conversations can be booked online.   Make sure you keep reading the school yearly calendar of events.

Honouring Our Heroes & Celebrating Our Future

We invite our school community to join us on Tuesday 22 April at 12:15 PM for a very special ANZAC Day Service at Wedderburn College. This event will provide an opportunity for students, staff, families and community members to come together in remembrance of the brave men and women who have served our country.

Following the service, we will proudly hold the official opening of the new KLC. (Korong Learning Centre). This milestone marks an exciting new chapter for our school, providing students with an enhanced learning environment for generations to come.

The opening of the KLC also serves as the perfect way to begin the countdown to Wedderburn College’s 160th Birthday Celebrations in July 2025! This historic milestone will be filled with special events and activities to honour our school’s legacy, achievements and the incredible community that has supported us throughout the years.

We encourage all students, families and community members to attend and be part of this momentous occasion. Let’s honour the past and celebrate the bright future ahead!

It is the first day back of school for Term 2

📅 Date: Tuesday, 22 April

Time: 12:15 PM

📍 Location: Wedderburn College

We look forward to seeing you there as we commemorate, celebrate and look ahead to an exciting future!   Please note there will be some awesome announcements made after the ANZAC service, ensure you stay and be amazed by the new state of the art facility.

YOUR COMMUNITY, YOUR SURVEY – HAVE YOUR SAY !!!

Back in September of last year, we hope that you took the time to read our article re-introducing the Wedderburn Development Association (WDA); with our purpose, history, objectives & visions.

It was noted back then to keep an eye out for our Community Consultation Survey in coming months for you (our community members) to have your say; reflecting the community’s overall needs, wishes & visions moving forward into the future.

WELL WAIT NO MORE !!! The survey questions cover various topics important to our community; also allowing you to provide more information for your ideas & suggestions.

The survey is out shortly (hard copies & submission boxes noted below), as well as a QR code for quick easy online submissions (you will also see these located at numerous locations around town).

The Wedderburn Community Plan 2025 – 2035 will (once again) be prepared, developed & submitted based on your Survey submissions, reflecting our community members vision in the development of our Wedderburn community.

The process of community consultation not only gives ownership but a greater sense of belonging to us, within our community. It also provides an opportunity for a collective community vision in our community’s future planning by identifying issues, challenges and opportunities that the community wishes to address over the short, medium or long term period of the next plan; and how these could possibly be delivered.

You can visit our website at; https://wedderburndevelopment.com.au/ and locate the current Wedderburn Community Plan 2005-2025 either on our website (documents tab) or on the Loddon Shire website.

Survey closes 27 April.

We thankyou for your participation – Wedderburn Development Association Committee.
