Farewell Sue!

At the end of Term One, after 26 years here at Teesdale Primary School, we are saying goodbye to Sue! Sue has played an important role in the TPS community and will be missed by all.
Good luck on your next journey!
Goodbye from Sue,
It is with mixed emotions that I am finishing up at Teesdale Primary School at the end of this term. Not many days left!
It has been quite a journey over the past thirty years, starting in the Parents’ Club when my son started school and then gaining the position of Business Manager in the office.
I look back and see so many changes. Our school was very small when I first came to Teesdale: only about 100 students and now we sit around 250. The new school building had not been built and the Admin building was brand new. Mind you we still had portables, just not as modern as the ones we have now!
I tried to estimate how many students I have watched grow up through the years. I would picture around the 1000 mark and that is probably the highlight of my time in the office, seeing them grow and become confident young adults. The job I did not enjoy – putting Band-Aids on their grazed knees!
I have also met and worked with over 500 amazing staff at school. You need to be a very special person to be a teacher or support staff and we have been very lucky at Teesdale to have had such a wonderful caring team. I have made long lasting friendships and I treasure that part of my time here.
I have enjoyed all the events and fun times at school. The school fair which ran for 10 years was certainly a favourite, including the haunted house/truck, plus lunch days, walkathons, discos, trivia nights, dress up themes and then of course, budgets, meetings, reports and lots of computer input!
This is me signing off from the school office, but certainly not from the school community. I am excited for some “me time” at home and travelling in the caravan with Bill.
I would like to thank everyone for their friendship, support and for making Teesdale PS such a happy time in my life. I would also like to acknowledge my amazing supportive family – they will need to put up with me in my retirement!
Bye for now as I head off into the next chapter of my life,
With fond regards,
Sue.
