Ramps at School
We were excited to see the temporary fencing removed from our school oval last week and the oval has yet again been a popular location during break times. We are experiencing additional construction and repairs throughout the school at the moment. A number of our ramps throughout the school will be demolished and reconstructed prior to next term to ensure they are safe.
Upcoming Events
- This week, our Junior School students are participating in their swimming program. This is quite an intense time for our Junior School students where they travel into Geelong each day and I am sure they will be tired by the end of this week!
Our Hot Cross Bun fundraiser and Easter Hamper raffle are almost here. Orders for the Hot Cross Buns will close tomorrow (Wednesday) There are spare forms available at the school office. The form also invites families to purchase a raffle ticket as part of our Easter Hamper raffle that will be drawn at our final assembly. The buns will be delivered to classrooms on Tuesday April 1st next week.
We are also looking for some additional parents to help us in preparing the buns on the morning of Tuesday April 1. If you are able to help from 9am on this date and have a Working with Children Check, please let the office know.
- Our school Athletics Day is scheduled for Thursday April 3. We hope to see families supporting our students through their events on this day. Further information will be shared with families soon.
- Our final day of term is Friday April 4. Students will be dismissed from school early at 2:30pm and Community OSH will also open at this time. We welcome families to attend our final assembly of Term 1 where we will celebrate the success of our students, and our raffle will be drawn. Our Assembly will begin at 2pm.

Staff Update
At the end of this term, we will farewell Sue Aitken. Sue has been working at Teesdale Primary School for 26 years and prior to that was a Parents Club member. Most recently as our Business Manager, Sue is often the person greeting students, families and visitors to our School. Sue has shown an incredible commitment to our school community and she continues to know the school inside and out! She is often the person asked about the school’s history and she happily shares her memories of how the school has changed over time. Sue has prepared her own newsletter item, and you can read that on the next page.
The end of this term also marks the end of my time at Teesdale Primary School and my final day will be April 4. I will be returning to Lethbridge Primary School next term so I am only a few kilometres away! Next term, Mr Irwin will return as Principal of Teesdale Primary School.
As this is our final newsletter for term 1, I wish you all well for the holiday break. Please take care and enjoy your time with family and friends. I would like to particularly congratulate our Foundation students, who will soon be celebrating finishing their first term at school!
Thanks everyone,
Chelsey
