Across the school we have been learning the names of different types of animals. Here are some of the animals that we have been exposed to:
In the 3-6 classes, they students have been learning how to tell the time.
Below is how to ask what the time is in Italian
Students in Grade 3-6 will be making gnocchi next week in Italian lessons. Stay tuned for photos of our experience
This week was the last of our tennis program with coach David Starling. It has been a very fun four weeks with all students happy and engaged!
We built from basic ball control skills to being able to competently rally across the net. It was rewarding to fetch less and less stray balls from over the fence each week too!
A special mention goes to the Grade 4 cohort who were voted by Dave to be the most enthusiastic and resilient group - what a great display of our school values!!
A lot of designing, problem solving, construction and fun has been underway in the art room in all classes using all the wonderful recycled items that were brought into the art room.
A big thank you to those who brought in some items. We are making some awesome things with them and we can't wait to show off the finished products!
We're almost finished with our unit on instruments of the orchestra! Students in some classes have been designing their own wacky instruments, based on the ways we know instruments make sounds. Students have been very engaged in review games, quickly sorting instruments into their families and enjoying a bit of competition!
We're also doing some folk dancing in preparation for Harmony Day celebrations, learning dances from around the world!
This Monday we had our first choir session! It was a lot of fun to sing together - we warmed up with a silly song, learned some songs we might sing to the kindergarten kids, learned a song about singing posture, and made a choir playlist of songs the students would like to learn! Choir is on Monday afternoons from 3:15-3:45.
