Wellbeing Programs running this term:
Zones of Regulation Small groups- The Zones of Regulation is a curriculum designed to help children develop self-regulation skills by recognising and managing their emotions and level of alertness. Through engaging lessons and activities in small groups, students learn to identify their emotional state (or "zone"), use strategies to regulate themselves, and build emotional awareness, problem-solving, and social skills—all in a supportive, inclusive and non-judgmental environment.
Life Skills- Lifeskills is a program which runs each afternoon for students across P-12. Lifeskills empowers students with practical knowledge and skills to navigate daily life, fostering independence and wellbeing. It covers a range of topics including personal care, problem solving , social skills, communication to equip students with the tools they need to thrive.
BRAVE Program- Starting up for the first time this term the BRAVE Program will be delivered in small groups to support students who are experiencing anxiety. The BRAVE Program will provide students with strategies to cope with their worries as they work through a series of online lessons. Anxiety is one of the most common problems encountered by young people and can be associated with many personal, social and economic consequences in the short- and long-term. Importantly, the earlier we intervene, the less impact anxiety is likely to have for children. Families can also access the program themselves at home for free. Junior Park Rangers- Junior Park Rangers has started again. A small group of students travel to the Kyabram Fauna Park each Monday for the next 10 weeks to be part of this exciting program. There are many changes happening at the Fauna Park and these students are fortunate to be part of this educational experience. They are participating with students from St Augustine's College and Twin Rivers Special School. So far they have had a tour of the Fauna Park, painted some nesting boxes and met the emus and cassowary. Next week they get up close and personal with the reptiles, non-venomous ones of course.
