Tutor Learning Initiative

Amy Booker

Introduced in 2021, the Tutor Learning Initiative (TLI) provides government and low-fee non-government schools with funding to employ tutors to deliver targeted small group learning support to students who need it most, with a focus on literacy and numeracy.

The initiative is consistent with Australian and international evidence that demonstrates effective learning intervention can be achieved through tutoring or small group learning support.

In Terms 1 and 2 the TLI had a focus on literacy, foundational skills for students in schools. For Terms 3 and 4 the focus will shift to numeracy.

I would like to congratulate the students who have already taken part in the TLI this year, who have made significant growth in their literacy learning. The weekly sessions have been filled with a range of learning opportunities and the students have flourished and shown success. They should be very proud of their achievements.

I look forward to sharing future successes with the Hamlyn Views School community.
