What fun Years 2 and 3 have had in writing this week creating their own poems. Although there is less writing, it has still been a challenge to think of appropriate words and keep those words in the correct format .

A Cinquain poem:

Title 2 descriptive words

3 action words

2 feeling words or simple sentence

A synonym for the title

See some examples below:

A Haiku poem:

Year 3 Maths

This week we ended our multiplication unit. The children have learnt about many great strategies in solving multiplication problems, including using arrays and focusing on the commutative property of multiplication. It has been great to see the children grow in confidence throughout this unit and beginning able to use strategies to solve various multiplication problems.

Another thing the children have started this week during our warm up, is completing Solve Emoji problems. This is something that they can also do at home to build their problem solving skills.

This will also be our last week of hockey before our exciting excursion next Friday to Tamworth. So, we made a lovely thank you card for Sue, our coach.
