Victorian High Abilities Masterclass

Celebration of Learning

On Monday 24th the of June our VHAP students welcomed VHAP students from Keilor Downs Secondary College, St Alban’s Secondary College and Victoria University Secondary College.

Combined we had over 120 students of High Ability working collaboratively to enjoy fun learning challenges and celebrate their success in the program.

In the English Masterclass, students worked with peers from a range of schools to develop a plan for the perfect Utopia.

Mathematics students enjoyed dealing with a “zombie apocalypse” scenario and completing a range of numeracy based challenges.

Our Taylors Lakes Secondary College students acted as impressive ambassadors for our school, helping our guests to feel welcome and comfortable in this environment. They acted as guides and I was proud of the way in which they interacted with both students and staff from our visiting schools. Many new friendships were made which was lovely to witness.

Students enjoyed a recess and pizza lunch that was provided as a reward for their hard work for completing additional extension work in either English or Mathematics.

I look forward to working with a new cohort of VHAP students in Term 3 who will join with the Term 4 students at the end of the year to attend a Masterclass at St Alban’s Secondary College.
