Community Leadership Project Presentation Day

On the 14th June, I had the pleasure of travelling to Marlo to visit our five Year 9 students (Mackenzie, Eliana, Hannah, Lucas, Joshua), who have been attending the Snowy River Campus for Term 2.

As part of their time at the School for Student Leadership, they have been planning a Community Learning Project (CLP) to implement back at the College. The day was a celebration of their hard work and commitment through a formalised presentation of their project and rationale. Mackenzie, Eliana and Hannah even showcased some of their own talents in singing and playing guitar, with Josh reciting some moving poems he had created.

Overall, Students delivered an engaging and creative presentation that highlighted the benefits this program could bring to TLSC and the wider community. All five students should be incredibly proud of their personal development and achievements during this time, and we can’t wait to watch them successfully implement their project: Mind Matters.

Dreamtime Guernsey Workshop

On Thursday the 2nd of May, First Nations students had the opportunity to develop and submit a design for the Essendon FC Dreamtime Guernsey for 2025, as part of a competition being held by representatives from the Long Walk Foundation at Essendon Football Club.

The workshop involved a discussion of ideas, planning and beginning to create student's sketches of the guernsey. Students had a great time getting creative with their designs, using cultural symbols and patterns and having some time to interact with each other.

It was fantastic to see them all engaging with the workshop and creating some impressive designs.

Goodluck for the competition!
