Year 9 Achieve Careers Expo and                             Young Industry Ambassadors

The final weeks of Term Two have been busy ones for our Year 9 Achieve students who have participated in a Careers Expo in Week 9 and had the opportunity to hear from three Youth Industry Ambassadors in Week 10.

A collaboration with Goldfields LLEN, these events provide students with real life examples of career pathways and future work and study opportunities. We are very grateful to the industry experts who volunteered their time to come and share their knowledge and expertise with our students.

Thank you to:

Arj Perera of Human Mechanics

Brittney White and Belinda Quinn from Shine Bright EYM

Christopher Gill from RMIT Flying School

Vince Murtagh and Sonia Vescovi from Bendigo TAFE

Claire McMahon, Luke Fitzpatrick and Kelsey Tilburn from Deep Core Drilling

Kellie Anset and Mia Spiers from Furlife Vet

Sarah McDonald from Ambulance Victoria

Jennifer Ranson from Bendigo and District Aboriginal Co-operative

Narelle Daly and Emma Power from Bendigo Health (Allied Health Services)

Matthew Burns from Strategem (Accountant)

Year 8 Achieve Sunshine Bendigo Event

On Wednesday 5 June the Year 8 Achieve classes were addressed by Glenda Serpell, the founder of Sunshine Bendigo.  Sunshine Bendigo was created to assist families with young children in our region who may be experiencing hardship. Since its inception in 2016, Sunshine Bendigo has responded to the growing need in our region and has helped thousands of families and children to have a brighter future.

The Year 8 Achieve classes are organising two special events in Term Three.

  • 8C, 8H and 8W will be hosting the Sunshine Carnival on Londonderry for the Senior School on Thursday 25 July during lunchtime and co-connect.
  • 8M and 8V will be hosting a similar event for the Junior School with the date to be advised next term.

Last year the 8 Achieve classes raised more than $1000 for Sunshine Bendigo and we would love to outdo this fantastic effort this year but this is only achievable (forgive the pun) with your help.

During the month of July we will also be asking for donations of socks and coats for children between the ages of 6 months and 6 years. These can be new or used ( in excellent condition). Donations can be dropped at Morey Reception throughout July.
