Foundation Visit to Como House and Gardens

On Tuesday the Foundation students went on an excursion to Como House. As part of their activity the students took part in activities helping them to compare life  “then and now”. They got to see different parts of the house and how it was run, play some games and collaborate with each other during the mystery trail in the gardens. We are so proud of how they represented our school on their first excursion!

Immigration Museum

On Monday the Year 5/6s went on an excursion to the Immigration Museum to learn about Australia’s migration history. Our journey started by traveling via the Upfield line to Flinders St then lunch along the Yarra river. Our visit at the Immigration Museum started by us having a lesson about how immigrants got to Australia and the cultures they brought. After our lesson we had a tour around the museum learning and recording facts such as causes of immigration, how immigrants got into Australia and its difficulties, famous immigrants and how immigration shaped Australia as a country today. Our excursion at the immigration museum was amazing. We thank our teachers and the staff at the immigration museum for making this excursion a great experience.
