Caring Learning Growing: Every Child Every Day

Dear Families,

I hope you have all had a lovely week. There has been so much learning across the school this week. I love getting out of my office and seeing all the amazing things that are happening in our learning spaces.

We are very excited this week to welcome Mrs Horsfall's beautiful baby boy, Samuel Douglas (Sammy) into our SMJ family. We are looking forward to meeting him and we wish Rhi and Jonny all the best as they embark on the amazing journey that is parenthood

Just a gentle reminder please that at pick up time cars are not to park in the entrance to the staff carpark.  One night a week our staff are on duty at Horsham College Transfer station and need to exit right after the bell goes. We may also have staff who need to head out to meetings. I understand that parking at the end of the day can be very busy. This has certainly become more of a problem after the changes to parking in the CBD which has resulted in more cars parking in McLachlan Street across the day. If anyone has any magic solutions to the parking problems I'd be happy to hear them. The most important thing at pick-up time is that everyone is safe. Thanks for your cooperation with this.

You will have noticed a new page on our newsletter titled Restorative Practice. This is a great source of information for families around our approach to working with our children on behaviour.  I do encourage you to take the time to read this information and watch any clips that may appear. We also have Trish presenting a parent information night on Tuesday, July 16 at 5.00 pm. I encourage you to attend as this is a wonderful opportunity to understand the approach and why we do what we do.

Once again I thank all those parents who have been helping out at brekky club. It is such a joy to have families back in and around our school after such a long period of disconnection over the Covid years. It is so important that all our children feel supported by a strong and caring community.

Enjoy the long weekend.

Louise
