From the Principal

Interviews are being held for Prep 2025.

We have tours nearly every morning at 9 am.

Help promote our school and share stories of the great learning and extra curricula opportunities we provide.

News from the SFS Advisory Council....

As the Chairperson of our SFS Advisory Council, I was invited to attend a dinner hosted by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS). The dinner was held at the Catholic Leadership Centre, where schools from all over the Melbourne region came together to meet and chat about their schools and experiences on the Advisory Council. It was a pleasure to network with chairpersons from various schools and learn about their achievements and difficulties on the council. The networking opportunities provided valuable insights and ideas for improving our own school's advisory council initiatives.

We were lucky to have a chance to listen to a variety of guest speakers, including Dr. Edward Simons the Executive Director of MACS and Gerard Dalbosco the Chair of the board of Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS).  Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools (MACS) has been established in 2020 by Archbishop Peter A Comensoli to be responsible for the governance and operation of approximately 300 parish primary schools and regional and archdiocesan secondary colleges in the Archdiocese of Melbourne.

The Melbourne Archdiocese's 2030 vision for Catholic schools was discussed as they strive to create educational experiences for students and communities that are inspired by faith, are the benchmark for excellence in teaching and learning, and become the place of best practice where teachers want to work, and students will thrive.

At the heart of our community is our faith, and it was inspiring to see how this vision aligns with our own values and goals for our own school. The presentations emphasised the importance of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement to create a supportive and enriching educational environments for all students.

As the advisory council, we will work to strengthen connections, networking with our parish, school leadership, and school community to ensure that our school continues to uphold these standards and values of continuous improvement that fosters a culture of growth and success. By working together, we can strive towards achieving our shared vision of excellence in education for our students.

Two junior students and two senior students will be selected for our SRC. The SRC will run every Monday at 2.15pm and will meet with Rachel Lenko Student Wellbeing Leader and Christine White.

  • demonstrates leadership qualities including modelling positive behaviour.
  • confidently speaks in front of the home group.

End of Day Routines to Keep us SAFE

This week 'End of Day' routines have been reinforced with all students. Parents are asked to work in partnership with our staff to also help reinforce the following specific safety routines for safe dismissal. Currently we have play after school but it is only on the BLUE playground and basketball court and NOT on the rainbow playground. There is only teacher supervision on the Blue Playground and the Drive Through after school. We encourage parents to pick up their child from the gate by the blue playground or the drive through. The gate by the rainbow playground is only for pedestrian use.

I will not play on the rainbow playground as there is no teacher supervising that area. I will not play ball games on the grassed area or playgrounds.

In the Drive through I watch for my car. When my car stops, I enter quickly.

My parents stay in the car.

It is important that no one is kept waiting.

Parents are also reminded that for the smooth flow of Drive through for all families and children, please remember the following:

  • Do stay in your car in drive through.
  • If your child is late, please go around again.
  • Follow the guidance of the teacher on duty.
  • Do not do a right turn into or out of the school gates before or after school.
  • Remember the car park is only for Staff cars
  • There is ample street parking at SFS.
  • Please park in the street and come in. You are always welcome.

Have a wonderful weekend.
