Burnie Primary Student Leaders

These last few weeks have been filled with so many exciting events and we are looking forward to the weeks leading up to the end of this term. We thoroughly enjoyed the Global Leadership Summit and the opening of our brand-new amazing classrooms. We are also going to start Learn to Swim next week.

The Year 6’s from both campuses, and Geneva went to Devonport Christian School where we attended the Global Leadership Summit. We made history as we were the youngest ever people to attend a Summit of this type in the world. We had a great time building catapults and learning about World Vision. We listened to live guest speakers, and we also had a great time with Just Dance. They also provided us with Subway for lunch and a hot chocolate for our recess.

Our amazing new classrooms have just opened! We had an opening and dedication service for them. The mayor, Teeny Brumby, and the deputy leader of the Tasmanian Labor Party, Anita Dow, came to witness the opening of our classrooms. It was a very exciting day as we showed all these people around our new classrooms.

Next week, we will start our Learn to Swim program. We are so excited to get in the pool. Learn to swim is very beneficial for kids our age. We will be sorted into three groups to learn at our level. Learn to swim goes on for two weeks, one period each day. It is a highlight of every student's day.
