Olympic Celebration

Organised by Mrs Lewer, Mrs Barlow and S7 students, we ended Term 3, Week 2 with an Olympics party, where all Support students were able to view various sports taking place, as well as engage in activities such as working out in the outdoor gym, table tennis, basketball and boccia. Great sportsmanship and inclusivity was shown throughout the morning - Well done all!

Boccia Tournament

As you may remember, our FGHS Boccia Team won Round One of the competition in Maitland. The team, consisting of Daniel Hooper, Connor Lancaster, Malakai Latham-Skelly, Candice Hurrell, Alex Bates, Brody Hackett, Sophie Jones, Macey Neilsen and Xavier Reckwell travelled to Sydney on Wednesday August 14 to partake in the Second Round of the State Tournament. They all demonstrated exemplary behaviour on the day and came 17th overall on the day! We are extremely proud of their efforts, and thank Ms Walford-Smith, and Mrs Dean who took the time to support our students!

Ten-Pin Bowling Competition

On Friday August 9, students in Years 10 and 11 headed to Raymond Terrace Strike Zone with Ms Rose, Ms Bardakos and Mrs Wilks to partake in Trials for the Support Unit Ten-Pin Bowling Competition. All students who attended are to be commended for their exemplary behaviour and demonstration of our schools' core values on the day. Stay tuned for the announcement of our team!

Variety Sunshine Coach

In 2022, we received funding through Variety the Children's Charity for a Sunshine Coach. We are excited to announce that we have recently obtained our bus, which is wheelchair accessible, meaning all of our FGHS students can partake in off-site activities. We can't wait to utilise our new Sunshine Coach!

Until next time!
