PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Lindy Burke
With Week 7 now done and dusted, we are certainly heading towards the pointy end of Term 2. It has been another busy and productive term, with plenty of learning, events and opportunities for our students to shine.
With the colder weather well and truly upon us, I would like to remind families to please ensure that all uniform items are clearly named. This makes it much easier for lost items to be returned to their rightful owners and helps keep our lost property collection to a minimum.
REGIONAL CROSS COUNTRY:
Congratulations to Lucy, Archie, Aaliyah and Carter for proudly representing our school at the Regional Cross Country on Tuesday. Despite the cold conditions, all four students showed tremendous determination, resilience and sportsmanship, giving their very best throughout the event.
A special congratulations to Lucy, who achieved an outstanding 4th-place finish and has qualified to represent our school at the State Cross Country Championships in Melbourne. This is a fantastic achievement, and we wish her all the very best for the next stage of competition.
Archie, Carter and Aaliyah also performed exceptionally well, each finishing within the top 22 competitors in their events. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented our school.
Well done to all four students on their outstanding achievements.
EX-EASTIE NEWS:
More fantastic past Eastie news came through earlier this week, with some outstanding results in the International Maths Challenge. Of the top eight competitors from more than 50 students at St Joseph's College, six were former Easties! Congratulations to Zachary C, Ava H, Ezekiel C, Harlyn B, Ava C and Jorja-Lee F on this remarkable achievement. Their results placed them between the 80th and 95th percentiles worldwide, highlighting both their mathematical ability and dedication to learning. It is always wonderful to see our former students continuing to thrive and achieve success as they progress through their educational journeys. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and accomplishments.
Seeing so many past Easties excel in mathematics is a testament to their hard work, perseverance and commitment to learning. It also serves as a reminder that the strong foundations built at Echuca East continue to support our students long after they leave our school.
Congratulations to all involved on this outstanding achievement.
REMINDERS:
There are also a few important dates and reminders for families to note:
BUS CHANGES:
Please be aware of an important change regarding bus services. Dyson Bus Lines and Newton's (Echuca Moama Transit) have advised schools that, due to contractual changes implemented by NSW Transport, they are no longer able to provide early departure bus services on the last day of each school term. As a result, parents and carers will need to make alternative arrangements for students who normally travel on these services.
We appreciate your understanding and cooperation regarding this change and encourage families to plan ahead to ensure smooth arrangements for the end of term.
As always, thank you for your ongoing support of our school community.
PUBLIC HOLIDAY:
A reminder to families that this coming Monday is the King's Birthday Public Holiday. There will be no school for students on this day. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend and the opportunity to spend time with family and friends. We look forward to welcoming students back to school on Tuesday.
