Reconciliation Week - Wear it yellow day
A huge thank you to our school community for supporting Wear it Yellow Day as part of Reconciliation Week 2026.
$115 was raised which will go directly to Children’s Ground, a 100% First Nations-led organization that champions education, health, cultural enrichment, and economic development for Indigenous communities.
Importance of food as fuel
Treating food as fuel means choosing nutrients based on how they power your body, brain, and performance. At schools students require food that helps them ‘last the day’. They need food that will keep them full during the day and will help them with energy and performance.
Some foods we love seeing in lunchboxes
- Fruit and vegetables
- Sandwiches, rolls, crackers and cheese, wraps
- Many students like bringing a thermos with rice, pasta, noodles and warm foods
- Yoghurt
- Dips and crackers
- Salads and sushi
Breakfast before coming to school is vital in keeping students alert and focused.
Brain food is encouraged at St Mary’s - fruit, dried fruit and vegetables are a quick snack that can boost brain power during the day.
