RTerm 2 has been another fulfilling and action-packed time at Berwick College.
I am excited to announce that school council has determined that from 2027 the uniform provider will be The Uniform Group. Over the course of Term 3 the school will undertake a significant consultative process with students, staff, parents and carers to review the existing uniform items and the possibility for a gradual renewal.
We are excited to work with The Uniform Group in ensuring that our students will easily be able to access a uniform that will keep them warm and comfortable, keep them physically active and keep them engaged in the identity of learning; which will continue the building of pride in our school.
Please keep your eye out on Compass newsfeed for opportunities for parents and carers to engage in this vital process in our school. We know that it is only by effective consultation with all of our stake holders that we will determine the best fit for Berwick College. We are really looking forward to engaging with our community regarding the presentation of our students through the school uniform.

Berwick College has also been working closely with Federation University to ensure that pathways in quality education do not end with students' time at Berwick College. Our commitment to learning extends beyond the classroom and prepares students for a rapidly changing world. Informed by projected workforce trends and employment opportunities across Melbourne's south-eastern region, our teaching and learning program is designed to equip students with the knowledge, skills and adaptability required for future careers, lifelong learning and success beyond school. Federation University are working with us to develop pathways that suit both our VCE pathway students and our VCE-VM pathway students. We know that students are more likely to successfully complete tertiary education if it is accessible. Our students are fortunate that there is a university in the local area of Berwick. While many students will choose to access opportunities further abroad, we will seek to take advantage of the privileged position that living in Berwick and the surrounds provides our students.
I do need to take this opportunity to remind parents and carers that they should respect traffic and parking restrictions in the City of Casey carpark, particularly at the end of the school day. We are well aware that the traffic pattern is not conducive to a smooth flow and can cause frustration. This is exacerbated when cars await students at the end of the school day in places other than approved parking bays. I would please ask that parents do not wait in their cars in no standing and no parking zones.

This particularly includes the zone in front of the Leisure Centre that is marked by the yellow crossed grid. I should also mention the roundabout is clearly marked as no parking. If you need to enter the carpark for an after school pick up, please proceed into the actual carpark and park in a marked bay. It is rare that no spaces are available after school. If we all cooperate together, our students will learn the importance of patience in traffic and most importantly, our students will remain safe. I thank everyone for their cooperation in this matter.
Finally, I would like to thank the staff for their tremendous efforts over the course of Term 2, of particular note the work the teachers have done in the revamping of the reporting system. As you open your Semester 2 report tomorrow or over the weekend, I hope that it provides you with information about your child's learning progress and your child's learning behaviours that facilitate important supportive conversations at home.

At the time of writing, I am eagerly looking forward to watching the second game of our Basketball team who proudly represent Berwick College and Australia at the NBA Rising Stars Invitational in Singapore.
We are proud of the work our students and coaches have done to be representing in this competition, but we know that this small group is only a small piece of a program that values hard work, clear thinking, academic excellence and teamwork.
I am so proud of all students who, not only in basketball, but in all endeavours, make every attempt to do their best. I wish everyone a happy and safe term break and look forard to a productive Term 3.
