Year Two Team News

Hello Year Two families,

Excitement has certainly been building in Grade Two for the busy final two weeks of Term Three we have to look forward to. Thank you for getting all sleepover notes in nice and early to help us prepare for what will be a fantastic night for our students. It has been wonderful to hear how excited the students are to spend a night at school with their friends.

Our Swimming notes also went home this week and we look forward to the program starting in Week 1 of next term. Please read the notes thoroughly and provide us with any information that will assist us in supporting your child throughout the program. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.

 Important news:

• Grade 2 Sleepover Reminders: Please ensure that your child's belongings such as drink bottles are labelled to reduce items getting lost or mixed up.
• If you have any spare mattresses that could be used by other students that you are happy to lend for the night, please let your child’s teacher know.
• If your child is arriving late or leaving early due to weekend sport or other commitments, please let your child's teacher know so they can organise your child as necessary.
• For parent helpers that are attending the sleepover, please let your child's teacher know if you have any dietary requirements or if there is anything else we need to know.

Curriculum Focus: Weeks 9 and 10

Literacy: In Reading, we will be monitoring our reading with a focus on questioning and thinking aloud.

In writing, we will be beginning to write our “The New Toy’ stories.

Numeracy:  We will be working on money and financial maths.

Inquiry: We will be continuing to create our own play experiences in small groups. 

Willy Kids: Through the pillar of Resilience, we are learning about being positive and the importance of approaching challenges and new situations with a positive outlook.
