Wurrin News - Years 8 & 9

Students at work!

The Year 9 German students participated in cooking a German dish within our school cooking facility with one of our Food Technology teachers. This was to support the learning and cultural understandings in their current unit about restaurants and cultural food in German-speaking countries. 

In Year 8 Science this term, students have been undertaking an Earth science unit of study. One of the ways of analysing the content of mineral ores for valuable metals is by flame testing – the high energy from the Bunsen Burner interacts with the metals in different ways, producing different coloured flames. The students can then think critically about the element that could be present and problem solve to determine the unknown metals.

Athletics 

Congratulations to the below students who have made it to through to the States Schools Victoria - Gippsland Division for Athletics on Tuesday 5th of September at the Newborough Athletics Track.

Student Achievements

Congratulations to many of our students who are competing in Football and Netball finals.

On the weekend James and Stephanie competed in the ODNFL (Omeo District Football Netball League) Grand Final and were part of their premiership teams.  James was also given best on field.

Well done to James, Stephanie and all our students who have been in finals.
