ALL WELCOME – WORSHIP AT ST PAUL

Everyone is welcome to join us on Sunday morning for worship. Worship times are 8.30am for a Traditional Service and 10.00am for a more Contemporary service with Godly Play on offer for Primary School aged children. Tea and Coffee and a time of gathering is held most weeks after both worship services.

PLAYGROUP @ ST PAUL

Playgroup @ St Paul is on each Tuesday during Term time in the Hall. We welcome people anytime from 8.30am onwards to help set up. Join us for a coffee, playtime, story time and songs from 9-10.30am each week during school terms. Cost is $2 per family. We offer a simple craft, a sensory activity and read a book related to a different theme each week.

This week at the craft table we made the Very Hungry Caterpillar from the classic book, played with sand in the sensory play space and continued learning some new songs, with the ever-popular ‘Slippery Fish’ song making an appearance.

Next week we will be celebrating Fathers and Father-figures with a special craft just in time for Father’s Day.

SPY

St Paul Youth is run on the first and third Fridays of the month during school terms and is open to students in School years 6-8. The next date for SPY is 1st September at 7pm in the hall. GROWING FAITH AT HOME

This resource is developed by the Lutheran Church of Australia and is intended to be a guide in sharing faith activities with members of your family.

Here are a few ways you could introduce faith discussions in your home and day-to-day life.

This week the Bible readings focus on who Jesus is: the Son of God, the foundation of the church, the one who overcame death and the gateway to the Kingdom of Heaven.

“Then Jesus asked them, “but who do you say I am?” Simon Peter spoke up, “you are the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.”

(Matthew 16:15-16)

The readings also continue to describe a number of different gifts God gives his people, such as telling people about Jesus, helping others, teaching, encouraging, sharing or giving, leading, and showing kindness to others. This reading creates the chance to think about how we can use our gifts to serve God through the people we meet in our families and community.

Mealtime Prayer:

Son of God, come be our guest, our thanks to receive and these gifts to bless. Amen.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, help us to show that we believe you are God’s Son through what we think, say and do today. Amen.

Blessing:

(Child’s Name) May the Lord make you strong and brave to speak up for him. Amen.

PASTY BAKES

The last pasty bake for the year is this Thursday 24th August. Pasties are $15 for a half dozen. Put your order through to Renate on 0405 433 030 or contact the Church Office on 8262 4690 to arrange payments and pick up. Funds raised go towards the ministry and mission of St Paul Lutheran Church.

LUTHERAN CARE

Did you know that Lutheran Care maintain a food pantry to help families in need? This program is called Loaves and Fishes and they require new food donations each month. For the month of September they are looking for donations of 2 minute noodles, tinned vegetables, tinned spaghetti, biscuits, breakfast cereals and individual soap. Donations are collected through the church office or can be donated directly to Lutheran Care, 309 Prospect Road.
