Maths Association of Victoria Maths Games Day

On Monday 11th September a selection of students from Grades 4 – 6 participated in 7 rounds of Maths activities and puzzles run by the Maths Association of Victoria with schools from across Victoria participating on the day.

It was a fun day with students having the opportunity to collaborate in teams of up to four to solve problems, play games and enjoy unique mathematical challenges. It was great to see the students focused, enjoying the challenges and sharing their maths strategies. 

The day ended with a celebration to share with other schools what we had achieved throughout the day. 

We are very pleased to announce the following highlights from the day:

Round 4 – Team Puzzle – Skye Team D were 1 of 3 teams who came the closest to solving the puzzle.

Round 5 – Floating Garbage - Skye Team G were 1 of 2 teams who were the most accurate and came within 2% of the correct answer.

A big congratulations to Skye Team D who were the overall winners for the day!
