Some optional activities and revision for the holidays:
Writing
Write a sentence and draw a matching picture of something they did on the holidays.
Practice writing the Heart words: he, she, her, his, are, too, they, and, went, are, have and do. Ask your child to show you the actions for each word. If you would like to get creative, your child could use chalk, textas, paint, pasta, beads or anything you have around the house to record the Heart words.
Reading
Practice reading from the Boomerang Book and the decodable texts that were sent home this term. This term, we have learnt: suffix s and ing. We have learnt the following diagraphs: ff, ll, ss, zz, ck, sh, ch, th, ng. Children can go on a hunt to find these diagraphs in a book.

Maths
- Students could practice counting forward and backwards for numbers 0- 20.
- Ask what comes before and after numbers to 20.
- Practice writing numbers 0-20.
- Use objects to share between 2, 3 or 4 groups. Eg. I have 10 lego pieces to share between 2 friends.
- Listen to counting songs:
Wellbeing
- Over the holidays discuss calming strategies and enjoy doing some meditation and yoga for children from the following webpage https://cosmickids.com/ This could be some positive screentime for children and it may give parents some quiet time!
Reminders
- School hats need to be worn in Term 4. Please make sure your child’s hat is named.
- Remember to use Reading Eggs and Mathletics over the holidays.
