PSA Golf

Congratulations to the PSA Golf Team who won the PC Anderson Trophy for the fourth time in five years at this year’s competition held at Seas View Golf Course last Friday.  Playing in a revised 2 ball Ambrose format, our team won the Cup by a comfortable margin of seven strokes. Christian Candeias and Jonah Adamson performed exceptionally well to record a score of 66 which is 6 under par. Congratulations to Riley Gott, Ben Cranny, Evan Alderslade, Christian Candeias, Jonah Adamson, Hudson Foote, Judd Ingleton and Rhys DeCelis who represented the College with distinction at this event.

Riley Gott, Ben Cranny, Christian Candeias, Jonah Adamson, Judd Ingleton and Rhys DeCelis backed up the following Monday to play in the School Sport WA Golf Day where again the team performed very well to win a number of awards in the team events in the Year 11 age group.

With all 8 boys who represented the College at these two events being in either year 10 or 11, the team should be prominent again in 2024.

PSA Athletics Season

Training has begun for the PSA Athletics squad and whilst the attitude from the students attending training has been fantastic, we would like to see more of the training squad attending as many training sessions as possible. The goal has been set for the boys to attend at least two sessions a week for the next two weeks in the lead up to the carnival on Friday, 8 September. The training schedule can be found on the Sports Training page on Seqta.

Training is compulsory for all Athletics students next Monday, 28 August from 3.20pm to 4.30pm. We will be holding a captaincy vote during training, as well as putting on a Sausage sizzle for the students at the end. For those students who have external commitments on a Monday, we will still expect them to attend the start of training to caste their vote.

Athletics Tri-Meet

The annual Athletics tri-meet will be held next with Wesley and Christ Church next Friday evening at the WA Athletics Stadium. This event will run from 3.00pm until approximately 6.00pm and all students selected in the squad will be expected to attend. The squad will hopefully be released early next week. There will be a bus provided to the venue, however parents will have to pick their child up after their last event.

Student Achievement:

Congratulations to Josh Bradbury (9.1), Callum Pugh (10.7), and Lachlan Toomath (12.7) for recently being selected in the U15 and U17 state Water Polo teams. They will be representing WA at the national championships in Sydney in late September.

Good luck to our Cross Country captain Kobee Beck (12.5), as well as Declan Collins (11.6) who will be representing WA in the National Cross Country championships in Canberra this weekend.
