Performing Arts News
Students have been progressing very well in their Performing Art’s sessions. They are developing their confidence, speaking and acting in front of others, remembering their lines and working as part of a team.
Students in Foundation to Year 4, have been putting drama skits up on Seesaw for families to watch. It has been amazing to watch students who may otherwise be shy, come to life when they are acting out a story.
Year 5/6 students have been learning the ukulele and have finally learnt to play enough chords to start playing songs. Some can even play the difficult ‘G’ chord that uses three fingers!
Over the next couple of months, there are some exciting performances coming up for our extension groups:
- The State School Spectacular dance team will be performing at John Cain Arena on Saturday 9th September
- The Junior and Senior choirs will be competing in the ‘Voices of the Choirs’ competition on Tuesday 10th October - more details to come
Finally, Miss Brewer would like to give a special shout out to 1/2B for their amazing singing in class this week. You make Miss Brewer proud.
