BOOK WEEK 2023

Last week our school celebrated Book Week. The Children’s Book Council of Australia (CBCA) theme for 2023 was ‘READ, GROW. INSPIRE’.  

This theme has worked beautifully this term as students have been learning about what it means to be an author and illustrator. Students in their classrooms used mentor texts from authors such as Carrie Gallasch, Jackie French and Jeff Brown to help inspire and grow their writing. 

On Friday, 25th August we celebrated our students as authors by opening up the classroom for their parents, grandparents and friends to share and enjoy the stories that the students had published. We are all very proud of the work that went into these published pieces.

Students also had a great time reading and enjoying the 2023 CBCA nominated books completing craft activities.
