From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome to another newsletter!  This will be the last one from me this term as I am taking a few days of leave before the end of the term. My last day will be next Wednesday the 6th of September. I will be back at the start of Term 4. Andrew Moore will be the Acting Principal in my absence and will be responsible for the final newsletter of the term. 

We have begun to plan our staffing structures for 2024 and yesterday we finalised the appointment of an Assistant Principal of Wellbeing and Inclusion. This role will officially commence at the beginning of 2024 with the successful candidate being Melissa Crozier. I will keep you all updated as other roles become finalised through the course of Term 4.

We have had a fun few Fridays here at school, with the Science sledding and Book Week. The students, staff and the wider community very much enjoyed both events - such fun and laughter! Thank you to Mrs Bird, Mrs Todkill and Mrs Syme for organising the events and the author's visits and fairs and also to all the teachers for getting into the spirit of both events. 

Our whole school professional learning day on Monday was focused on writing across the school and our SWPBS programs. All teams of teachers worked collaboratively to not only further improve their knowledge but also to refine what and how we approach writing within our school curriculum. Teams also reflected on their use of SWPBS before our official launch in Term 4.

Thank you to everyone who has participated in the Department Survey for us. If you have a spare 20 minutes we would really appreciate it if you could fill this in for us. I sent out a Compass notification the other day which has helped us jump from 8% to 14% participation rate of our families - so thank you! Hopefully, we can keep this climbing a bit higher.
