From The Principal's Desk

Dear Parents and Carers,

Winter has come to an end and we are fast approaching the end of another term. Our camping program finished off with the Grade 3 Camp which was a great success for so many of our students. For some students staying away from home is a big challenge, particularly when this is their first experience of a camp setting. I would like to congratulate all of the Grade 3 students who attended the camp and the staff who supported them and ensured they had a wonderful time.

On Friday 25th August the school finished the week with the Trivia night at the Ballarat East Bowling club. We had over 40 staff and 70 parents attend the event and support the school fundraiser. It was a fun night with lots of laughter. The fundraiser raised over $3300 for the school which will go to the Energy Breakthrough team and the shade sail in the Garden centre.

A huge thank you to Ms Gerrard who drove this event and was supported by Bridie and Danielle from the office.

Staffing News

In the last few weeks we have been working through our staffing recruitment for 2024.  We have currently employed eight new teaching staff for next year. This is mainly to cover the extra classes we have for next year and the replacement of some staff who are taking family leave in 2024.

We are close to mapping out our school structures for 2024 and will look to the final decisions when I return from some Long Service Leave. I will be taking leave from school on Tuesday 12th September and returning back on Friday 13th October.

In my absence Marnie Cooper will be Acting Principal and Ms Stephanie Lindsay will take on Assistant Principal duties at a full-time capacity.

This Week and Beyond!

This week on Tuesday 5th September we had students compete in the Division Athletics at Llanberris.

On Friday 15th September we will celebrate Footy Colours Day. Students can come dressed in their favourite sporting team. Our day finishes at 1.30pm on this day.

On behalf of the school, thank you for your support this term. There have been many highlights this term and a lot to be proud of. I look forward to our final term for the year and the continued growth of our school in all areas.

Have a great week – Scott, Marnie and Stephanie
