Principal's News

Dear parents and friends of St Agatha's School community,
Congratulations to Our Year 3 Students – Sacrament of Reconciliation
We extend our warmest congratulations to the Year 3 students who recently celebrated their First Reconciliation. This sacrament is a beautiful expression of God’s forgiveness and love in the Catholic faith. Reconciliation invites us to reflect deeply, to acknowledge when we fall short, and to open our hearts to healing and renewal. It reminds us that forgiveness restores relationships and brings us closer to God and one another.
At school, forgiveness is woven into our daily interactions. We model and teach restorative conversations, helping students to take responsibility, repair harm, and rebuild trust. These practices nurture empathy, compassion, and a strong sense of community—values at the heart of both our school and our faith.
Saint Carlo Acutis Exhibition – A Powerful Inspiration
Last week, we had the privilege of hosting the Saint Carlo Acutis exhibition and welcoming his relics into our school. Many classes visited and were captivated by Carlo’s extraordinary example of youthful faith. At just 14, Carlo created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and the lives of saints—using technology to evangelize in a way that continues to inspire young people around the world.
Students were deeply moved by his message that holiness is possible for everyone, and that ordinary moments can become extraordinary when lived with love and purpose. His life continues to remind us that we, too, can use our gifts to serve others and share God’s goodness.
NAPLAN Congratulations
A big congratulations to our Year 3 and Year 5 students who recently completed their NAPLAN tests. It was a challenging time after a technical issue caused chaos across Australia, however, we got there in the end! We are proud of the students' effort, resilience, and positive attitude. Thank you also to our dedicated teachers and supportive families for guiding them through this important learning milestone.
Best Wishes to Our Year 6 Campers
Our Year 6 students have set off and are currently enjoying a three-day camp at Camp Rumbug in Foster enjoying an exciting adventure program. We wish them all the best as they challenge themselves, build teamwork skills, and create lifelong memories. We look forward to hearing all about their adventures upon their return!
Harmony Day - 24th March
Don't forget it is Harmony day next Tuesday 24th March. Students are invited to wear free dress with a splash of orange. Each student is to bring along an Easter Egg for the Easter Raffle. We are looking forward to a day of inclusivity and harmony!
Lunchtime Clubs
A big thank you to Bunnings Warehouse Cranbourne for their generous donation to support our school Gardening Club. Your contribution will help our students grow, learn and care for our garden. We’re also excited to welcome the Bunnings team to visit our veggie garden next term!
All of our lunchtime clubs are working really well thanks to the Learning Support Officer team. We would be grateful for any donations to assist with our clubs. Please see the flyer attached for what we are looking for.
Holy Week
In Week 10 of Term 1, we will celebrate Holy Week. Holy Week is a special time in the Christian calendar that invites reflection, kindness, and hope as it leads up to Easter. Beginning with Palm Sunday, families and students learn about the final days of Jesus’ life, including the Last Supper, Good Friday, and the joy of Easter Sunday, which celebrates new life and renewal. During this week, we encourage children to think about values such as compassion, forgiveness, gratitude, and caring for others—messages that are meaningful both at school and at home, regardless of background.
You are all most welcome to join us on the last day of Term - April 1 at 2:30pm in the Hall for our Holy Week celebrations led by our Year 5 students.
End of Term 2 Reminder
A reminder that Term 2 will finish on Wednesday, 1st April. Thursday, 2nd April will be a school closure day as our staff participate in a professional learning day focused on enhancing our teaching of mathematics.
A Final Reflection
As we continue to embrace a spirit of compassion and forgiveness within our community, I leave you with the words of Pope Leo, who reminds us of the heart of Christian mercy:
“True forgiveness does not await repentance, but offers itself first, as a free gift, even before it is accepted.”
May we strive to live this grace each day—with our families, our students, and one another.
Yours in partnership,
Michelle Bruitzman
