A Message from the Acting Assistant Principal
Mrs Chelsea McKeown
Well done to all our Year 3 and Year 5 students on completing their recent NAPLAN assessments. We are extremely proud of their hard work, focus, and dedication to learning. NAPLAN is just one of the ways we monitor student growth and achievement. Our teachers also have a detailed understanding of each student’s progress through day-to-day assessments and classroom observations. We would like to thank the Year 3 and Stage 3 teachers and support staff for their dedication in guiding and supporting our students throughout this process.
A reminder that Parent/Teacher interviews will be held on Tuesday 31st March and Wednesday 1st April. Bookings can be made through your Compass portal. If you have any questions, please call or email the school office.

This term, students from Kindergarten to Year 6 have been setting personal learning goals for Semester 1 (covering end of Term 1 and Term 2). These goals help them reflect on their learning, identify areas to improve and challenge themselves.
Goal setting is an important skill that helps students take ownership of their learning and develop self-management. Parents can support this process by discussing goals with their children and encouraging them along the way.

Effective student learning goals have several key characteristics. They should:
When students set meaningful goals and reflect on them regularly, they become more engaged, confident and motivated learners.
Your child’s learning goals will be shared with you during the upcoming Parent/Teacher interviews. When parents understand their child’s goals and the reflection process, they can provide encouragement and support at home.
Working together as a school–home partnership helps students stay motivated and allows parents to see how their child learns and what they are working towards. Talking about learning strategies, progress and goals can make this support even more effective.
At the end of the semester, students will reflect on their goals to see what they have achieved and how it has helped their learning and progress.
We will celebrate Harmony Day on Friday 20 March. Students are encouraged to wear a splash of orange (an orange piece of clothing or accessory) as we recognise that everyone belongs. Classes will take part in simple activities that highlight our school’s cultural diversity and the importance of kindness and inclusion. We look forward to a bright and meaningful day together.
