Exciting News: Launching our Wellbeing Hub at Ardlethan Central School

We are delighted to announce the opening of our Wellbeing Hub, a dedicated space designed to nurture the social, emotional, and mental health of our school community.

Our Wellbeing Hub brings together principles from The Resilience Project, Berry Street Education Model, Take the Time, and the NSW Department of Education’s Wellbeing and Inclusion policy. This holistic approach ensures that our students can access support, tools, and programs that foster resilience, inclusion, and positive wellbeing.

The Wellbeing Hub offers a welcoming environment for students to take a break, reflect, and recharge. Guided by evidence-based practices, it includes resources and activities that promote mindfulness, self-regulation, and connection with a clear fortnightly focus. Through this initiative, we aim to create a culture where every individual feels valued, supported, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Fortnight Focus: Know our space and feelings

Over the coming fortnight, students will participate in activities designed to help them get comfortable with the routines of the hub, begin building emotional vocabulary, and check in with how they’re feeling. Guided conversations and visuals will encourage children to express feelings like happy, tired, nervous, or excited, while building a foundation of belonging. By focusing on emotional literacy, we empower children to communicate their needs and start healthy relationships—building confidence and wellbeing for all.

At home, you can support this learning by doing a daily “feelings check-in” using words or a chart, talking about how book or TV characters feel in different situations, and sharing your own feelings openly with your child.
