Updates from Miss Maree
Dear Families,
Can you believe we are almost at the end of Term One already - This term has absolutely flown! A huge congratulations to our Foundation students who start their full week of learning from this week.
NAPLAN:
Our Year 3 and 5 students are currently undertaking Naplan tests and are doing a wonderful job to navigate the technology, the timeframes and the content of the tests. Writing, Numeracy, Reading Comprehension and Language Convention (spelling and grammar) are completed over a number of days on devices and results will be known later in the year.
SIMON Everywhere App:
It is wonderful to have SimonEverywhere up and running (finally!!!). Permission forms
(swimming was sent out on Friday) are now accessible online - 21 families have already ticked the box giving approval for their child to attend swimming lessons in the coming weeks. If you re having trouble accessing the app please reach out to Sarah in the office or myself as we can help you with this.
This app can also be used to alert the office when your child is absent from school. Using the app reduces the time Sarah then needs to contact parents. Later next term you will also receive your child's written reports through this app.
Learning Conversations/PSG's:
Thank you to the staff and parents who attended Learning Conversations and PSG's in the past two weeks. These meetings are a great opportunity to discuss your child's progress and goals for the year. If you have any feedback on how we can improve these meetings please let us know.
Open Day:
This Tuesday 17th March is our annual Open Day. Tours and an Information Session will be provided at 9.30 and 5.30pm. If you know of anyone who may be interested in attending please pass the date and times. The interest we have had already for Foundation 2027 is looking great.
Easter Raffle:
Thank you to those families who have already donated something for our Easter Egg Raffle. This raffle is always a winner with the students. Tickets will be going home tomorrow. $1 a ticket - please write on both sides and return sold. Raffle will be drawn the last day of school at 1.45pm. Students finish at 2pm on that day (Thursday 2nd April).
Shout Out to Community:
In case you missed out on seeing some of our students Shout Outs at the NOW festival - here are some. We love giving back to our community and acknowledging all the work people do.

Maree on Leave:
I will be on leave as of Friday 20th March to Monday 30th March. While I'm away Maddy B, Gab and Ebony will all take turns in ensuring the school runs smoothly. It couldn't be in better hands! If you have any questions or concerns please don't hesitate to contact the office and Sarah will put you in the right direction as to who to speak to.
As always, I am available for any conversations, feedback, suggestions that will improve our great school. My door is always open.
Take care and stay safe,
Maree
