Principals Message

As we mark Harmony Week at our school, I am delighted to reflect on this important celebration that highlights the rich cultural diversity within our community. Harmony Week is a special time dedicated to promoting inclusiveness, respect, and a sense of belonging for everyone, regardless of cultural background, language, or heritage. It is a reminder of the strength we gain from embracing our differences and working together in unity.
Throughout the week, Mrs. Mclay has been sharing informative and entertaining insights about various cultures from around the world. Her engaging assembly presentations have offered us all a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the traditions, customs, and stories that make each culture unique and valuable Thank you to Mrs. Mclay for her dedication in bringing these cultural experiences to life and enriching our understanding.
The ethos of Harmony Week resonates deeply with the core values we uphold as a school community. Striving for harmony is not just something we celebrate for a week; it is a vision we commit to every single day. We aim to foster a welcoming environment where every student feels valued and empowered to contribute their voice and perspective. This commitment supports not only positive relationships but also a vibrant learning atmosphere where diversity is celebrated.
Next week, our Year 10 students will be embarking on their work experience placements. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to all the local employers who have generously opened their doors to host our students. Your support is invaluable in providing real-world opportunities that enrich our students’ learning and prepare them for the future. We truly appreciate your commitment to helping our young people gain practical experience in the workforce. Thank you to our tireless careers advisor, Mrs Ing, for all her efforts to support students in their work experience placements.
Stage 6 students and staff have been working diligently to prepare for the Stage 6 examinations taking place during the final week of term. This set of exams is particularly significant as it completes the Year 11 course under the compressed curriculum. I commend all involved for their dedication and hard work in preparing for these first major assessments at this level. We are confident that our students will approach these exams with the focus and resilience that exemplify our school community.
