"Thank you, Lord Jesus Christ,
for all the blessings which You have given us (..).
O most merciful redeemer, friend, and brother,
may we know You more clearly,
love You more dearly,
and follow You more nearly.”
Prayer of St. Richard of Chichester, 13th century
This past Monday the Year 3 students went to Adoration in the church and prayed for all the St Martha’s Families’ intentions.
After praying a decade of the Rosary and spending a few minutes in Thanksgiving in front of the Blessed Sacrament, the Year 3 Students learnt about the Eucharistic Miracle at La Rochelle in 1461, when a boy who had been paralysed and mute since the age of seven, was instantly cured when he received Communion at Mass on Easter Sunday. He was completely healed of his paralysis and was, once again, able to speak.
As you might have heard, Blessed Carlo Acutis (a young boy who died at the age of 15 and will be canonised soon) investigated Eucharistic miracles, starting with what happened in Lanciano, Italy, in the eighth century, and created a website (translated in 17 different languages) called Miracoli Eucaristici. I would like to invite you all to sit down with a cuppa this weekend and read this article: https://www.catholicnewsagency.com/news/257780/carlo-acutis-to-be-first-millennial-saint-pope-francis-recognizes-miracle-for-canonization (it includes a video) and look at the website created by Blessed Carlo Acutis which includes a list of miracles, a virtual museum and a map of the world that shows where each miracle is located. Blessed Carlo also included a catalogue of Saints and mystics who were especially devoted to the Eucharist.
A HUGE thank-you to all the Parent Volunteers and to everyone who attended last week’s:
How truly joy-filled, loving, generous and caring the St Martha’s community is!
