Parents/Guardians,

National Reconciliation Week

Next week is Reconciliation Week. This is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures and achievements, and explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. Students will participate in discussions and activities in the classroom. We will also send grade 5/6 students to Echuca on Monday to represent our school at the Reconciliation Walk in Echuca.

School Beanies

As the weather starts to  change and the mornings become cooler, now might be the perfect time to buy your child a school beanie if they don't already own one. These are available at the school office for $12.

Cross Country

Good Luck to Orly, Cooper, Ava and Maddy who travel to St Arnaud next Tuesday to compete in the Regional cross country event. Thank, you to Mrs. Mangan, Mr Rasmussen and Zane  for organizing and attending the Echuca event.

Rapid Antigen Test Kits

Covid is again making its unwelcome presence felt, with  staff and students absent in recent weeks for this reason. Please assist us by keeping your child home if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Today we sent home a RATS test kit with the eldest child in each family. (please check your child's bag). As a school we were able to obtain these free for staff and students but have been informed this is the last time these will be provided by the  Department of Ed.

Dates for your Diary - Pupil Free Day

Each year schools are granted  5 pupil free days by the Department. Our next Pupil free day is Friday 7th June. This is the day we have allocated to Assessment and Reporting. We have chosen this day as it aligns with the King's birthday holiday on Monday 10th, making it a four day weekend for families who are looking for an opportunity to get away.

Semester One student reports

Teachers are currently collecting and analysing  student assessment data in preparation for our Semester 1 reports. Over the next couple of weeks, all teachers will be working in Professional Learning Teams to moderate student data in order to make consistent and comparable judgements of student learning against the Victorian Curriculum. Reports will be released via XUNO during the last week of Term 2.

Prep enrolments for 2025

Prep enrolments for 2025 are being accepted and the Department of Education suggests school  encourage families to submit these by the end of this term. If you know of families interested in attending Rochester Primary School in 2025, please encourage them to contact the school.
