Partnerships and Pathways
Happy National Careers Week! What a timely opportunity to celebrate all the diverse and exciting pathways that our students are discovering at the College each and every week. Careers Week at CCC has featured fun and interactive activities, displayed on our electronic screens and in the library, to encourage students to start talking about career ideas. Why not start a conversation at home too? Try these quirky Career Conversation Cards with your daughter (from Study Work Grow) making it easier than ever to start career conversations at home - why not interview each other!
Lunch and Learn is a regular feature on the weekly calendar and we’ve recently welcomed Charles Sturt University, Linfox and family law firms ATW and Lander & Rodgers. We will also soon host Seymour Whyte plus ACU and UTS in coming weeks, showcasing what’s on offer to students, study options, early entry programs, life on campus and more!
Year 11 students can access two different ACU Step Up programs providing a valuable opportunity to study two first year university subjects in Year 11 and potentially secure early entry to ACU in 2026. ACU Step Up Into Teaching, also known as SUIT, has just opened for applications - and attending the ACU Information Night (28 May) is mandatory. There are also Step Up+ courses into Nursing, Criminology, Business and Sport & Exercise Science (eligibility criteria applies). Students should see or email Adam and Kara if they are interested in applying.
Caroline Chisholm's next generation of aspiring construction, engineering and trade professionals headed to the Multiplex CBD head office last week to explore their post school pathways into industry, at the fun and interactive Jump Start University and Careers expo. Thanks to Multiplex's Jump Start program our students met with industry and tertiary organisations about their post school pathways as well as career opportunities within the built environment.
This week, four of our students attended the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Senior Students Forum. Hosted by St Columba’s Catholic College and Jarara Cultural Centre, this was an important opportunity to seek advice on post school options and featured a panel discussion, cultural workshops and a pathways expo showcasing employment and training advisers from a range of industry sectors.
Our Careers Canvas Page is THE place to find out about all the latest news, opportunities, events and resources for careers and pathways for all students - but particularly at the moment for our Year 10s and subject selection + our Year 12s with post school pathways plans around study and work.
To book a coaching conversation, or for any pathways enquiries, students can pop into the library or email us: amacnamara1@parra.catholic.edu.au and koliver4@parra.catholic.edu.au
