Pentecost
This weekend, the Church celebrates the feast of Pentecost. Pentecost is one of the most important feast days in the liturgical calendar as it marks the end of the Easter season and celebrates the beginning of the Church. This Christian celebration has its origins in the Acts of the Apostles, where the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles bestowing upon them the gifts of the Holy Spirit. It is through these gifts that the Apostles were able to fulfil their mission to spread the Good News to all nations.
This morning the college community gathered in prayer for our Pentecost Liturgy. In this liturgy students were challenged to allow the Holy Spirit to work within them; to be witnesses to Christ, and actively reach out to make the world a better place. To highlight this important occasion in the Church Year, the prayers of the faithful were recited in various languages. Thank you to Ms Morley, Mr Caws, Mrs Riger and the students who led this morning’s Pentecost Liturgy.
Year 7 - 12 Reflection Days
On Tuesday 28 May, students in Years 7-12 will be participating in a reflection day, as part of their faith formation at Caroline Chisholm College. The reflection days have been developed by college staff and provide an opportunity for students to explore their relationships with their peers, their family and their God. They are best able to do this by ‘retreating’, taking time out from routines and busy schedules to reflect upon their spiritual journey. This is a compulsory school activity and the cost of the day has been included in the college school fees. A detailed letter has been sent to families on Compass.
